My wife has sensitive skin, and some days her skin felt uncomfortable after a shower. I wanted more control over what touches my family's skin every day.
My journey with AquaWel began with a simple question: what remains in our tap water after treatment? With a background in fluid sanitization and disinfection technology, I began looking more closely at water treatment and the role of residual disinfectants in everyday shower water.
As I explored solutions for my own family's showers, I wanted something that reflected my own requirements rather than simply choosing an off-the-shelf product. Through my wife's family connections with Korean manufacturers, I worked on a custom formulation that aligned with those requirements.
I couldn't find a shower filter for Singapore's chloraminated water with a published chloramine test result. So after using our formulation at home, I had it independently tested by an accredited Singapore laboratory (Analabs, Lab No. AC/WE/4927A/26): free chlorine and chloramine were both not detected in the filtered water. Singapore's tap water is safe to drink. AquaWel is about how your shower water feels on your skin and hair.
After my family and close friends tried the product and shared their experiences, interest grew naturally. What started as a personal project became AquaWel — a shower filtration product made available to other families who wanted to explore filtered shower water for their homes.
Today, independent laboratory testing forms part of AquaWel's commitment to providing customers with clearer information about its filtration performance. We believe product claims should be supported by evidence, not just promises.
