AquaWel Lab Test Report: Chlorine & Chloramine Results

We had water filtered by a new AquaWel shower filter independently tested by Analabs, a laboratory in Singapore. Here is the full report, what was tested, and what the result does and doesn’t show.

<0.01 ppmFree chlorine — not detected
<0.01 ppmMonochloramine — not detected

“<0.01 ppm” means the amount was below the lowest level the test method can measure.

What the sample was

Sample 601 was Singapore tap water collected after it passed through a new, unused AquaWel shower filter. We collected and submitted the sample to the laboratory. The laboratory’s report describes it as “one sample of water”, and tested it as received.

What this result shows — and what it doesn’t

  • It shows: in this sample, free chlorine and monochloramine (the type of chloramine used in Singapore’s water treatment) were both below the 0.01 ppm detection limit of the test.
  • It is one sample from a new filter. It does not measure how the filter performs later in its life. Each filter lasts up to 3 months; we recommend replacing the whole unit every 3 months.
  • There is no unfiltered comparison sample in this report, so we don’t quote a percentage reduction.
  • Only free chlorine and monochloramine were tested. The report makes no claim about any other substance.
  • Results at home can vary with water temperature, flow rate and your building’s water supply.
Singapore’s tap water is safe to drink. PUB adds chloramine to keep water safe as it travels through the pipes. AquaWel is about how your shower water feels on your skin and hair — it is a cosmetic shower filter, not a medical treatment.
